·          Session facilitator for business process analysis, worked with end-user management,  tasked to compile and develop process definition documents for the Office of the Insurance Commissioner in Pennsylvania. The set of resulting documents served as the groundwork for succeeding systems reviews.  The process definitions identified the major inputs and outputs of the various business areas, the controls and mechanisms of the identified processes,  and the responsible organizations for the process steps. Also identified disaster and recovery scenarios, and gathered lists of possible improvements for each process. The process diagrams were done using Visio, and the documentation included all identified business forms and reference materials.

·          Team supervisor on the business process documentation project at AOL using Visio tools; responsible for QA review of the Billing process, in line with SOX Audit compliance. Documented implementation of controls, accountabilities, and corrective actions and analytics used. 

·          Reviewed/ refactored SQL queries and developed  API’s  using Oracle stored procedures and DLL’s  for the Pennsylvania Dept. of Education website.

·          Worked on the Conversion project for DCNR’s Vehicle and Dealership Registration System as the Project Lead, Lead Business Analyst, and Data Modeler.  Conducted project planning, organization and staffing; Supervised and worked on the development of the test plan and managed  test activities. 

·          Primarily responsible for the  process and reports definition, data modeling and database design using Designer 6i, and data mapping from the previous SQL Server database into the new Oracle database design.

·          Worked with user management on the business requirement of better address handling, and provided research and technical guidance on the implementation of ZP4 address verification interface, and the initial analysis for barcode implementations.

·          The new system was implemented and deployed initially on the client-server platform on a Windows server using Oracle 8i with Oracle iAS, and later implemented  as a web-deployed application.

·          Provided data analysis for the Quality Management and Materials Management modules in the company’s global implementation of SAP R/3. Responsible for preparing and validating 3NF data models, mapping the data elements to SAP's data structures, identifying Key Data Elements and facilitating the documentation of definitions, domain and code values, and data issues.

·          Coordinated and conducted requirements analysis meetings with QM, MM functional teams on the Tyco SAP implementation, to develop the Enterprise Data Dictionary, and organize the relevant entities and their relations, and catalog enterprise semantics.

·          Worked with Cognos MDD Cubes for the Global Business Intelligence Systems Division. Designed dimension maps and queries using Transformer and PowerPlay. Used Impromptu for reports development (to include drill-downs). Wrote modifications to SQLLoader scripts for the data migration from mainframe source RAMIS to Oracle 7.3 databases.

·          Provided analysis, design, and development work on the AMP Tool Inventory System using Oracle and Crystal Reports calling PL/SQL stored procedures.

·          Worked as an application analyst for the Corporate Human Resources Division. Performed detailed code reviews and reconstructed the entity relationship diagrams from the current databases, and updated the systems documentation for the HR applications.

Modeled the data structures and wrote the scripts for the table and index creations, including the design of security features using a combination of Oracle dynamic views, and creating a security server component using DCOM. The application also will use database triggers for code translations during inserts, and would have the volatile business rules coded in a business server also using DCOM

 

 

Home Insurance 1997-1998

·          Delivered and presented the Data profiling report for the data warehouse project .

·          Gathered query and data mart requirements from the Actuary group, and modeled the facts and dimension entities;

·          Developed dimensional model for the new Claims History; reverse-engineered the data model from the old OLTP Claims system.  Conducted reviews and proposed action items for ETL processes; to improve data quality, delivery, and fault-tolerance; proposed modifications to Oracle stored procedures, and database triggers. Provided research on BI tools Cognos and Oracle Discoverer.

·          Documented the data mappings of business data elements into the data structures of the OLTP Pyramid Claims system.  Provided functional specifications for the derivation process; provided technical guidance in the creation of stored procedures, packages, and database triggers for the customer’s Oracle 7.3 database.

Contracted by IBM to work with the Systems Integration Division to provide project and systems analysis supervision for three concurrent projects. Facilitated and ensured quality of product and service deliveries. Facilitated/ conducted regulatory and contractual compliance audits through the life cycles.

·          Group Insurance System project at Ayala Life Insurance. Responsible for  improving delivery performance of the PowerBuilder/ DB2 project.  Reviewed project tasks and provided new project schedules. Led the review and completion of the  data models, and finalized the physical database design document.  Provided a resource development plan to bring programming skills at levels sufficient to address the project schedules.

·          Social Security System, Document Imaging System. Responsible for managing the Implementation Phase of the Loans Document Imaging and Workflow project at the national office of the Social Security System. Presented the process documentation for the Benefit Administration System using the new imaging technology. Facilitated resolutions and closure of technical and resource issues for  this project which involved $1.1 Million worth of acquisitions, and multi-vendor coordination. Coordinated problem analysis with third-party vendor, to trouble-shoot Unix scripts (AIX on RS6000 using Sybase System 10).

·          Claims Imaging System for the Malayan Insurance Company.  Tasked to oversee the development and completion of the Claims Imaging System for the Malayan Insurance Company. Supervised the enhancement of the process documentation for the Claims Systems using the new technology. Provided planning and resource support to a senior team of developers implementing IBM’s Imaging software using REXX on the OS/2 platform; and  responsible for account management, status reporting, and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Strategic Partners International was a subsidiary of the United Coconut Planters Bank, a leading universal bank in the Philippines. Recruited as a lead business analyst/ systems architect, and was promoted to full Project Manager position after consistently proving capabilities in handling various critical situations and providing solutions to tight-schedule deliveries. Led many Oracle and client/server projects, developing banking-related applications,  and served as a senior consultant for proposal teams including the management of the RFP process for a major Insurance client-company.

·          United Savings Bank.  7/1993 - 12/1993.  Organized an 18-man Oracle project team composed of analysts and programmers, and led the work on system and database design for an integrated General Ledger, Loans Management, and CA/SA  systems for  a Savings Bank subsidiary. Supervised the requirements gathering activities for the Loans Management application.  Supervised the development and performed the QA for data analysis and modeling on the 3 applications, as well as the physical design, and initial tests on the database objects on the QA database.  Provided resource development planning and training for team members on Oracle database administration.

 

·          Social Security System, Philippines.  1/1994 - 12/1994.  Led a 4-man team of data analysts, and  tasked to provide a  Conversion Plan for a large-scale migration of legacy data from MVS to Unix/DEC Alpha Oracle databases -- part of the Loans Management System project for the national office. Supervised and performed QA on data models, identified data purification issues, documented data element mappings to the new database design.  Supervised ETL design, created loading scripts using SQL Loader, wrote transformation programs using PL/SQL.  Also participated in SQL design and application tuning for the project.

 

·          Insular Life Assurance Co.  12/1994 - 6/1995.  Performed requirements gathering, created the Systems Requirements Document. Assigned as the Lead Business Analyst and supervised  the development of the Bank Reconciliation, Collection and Disbursement systems using PowerBuilder 3.0 on Watcom/Windows 3.1.  Also supervised the development of the Investment Management System for a subsidiary, using PowerBuilder 3.0 on SQL Server 4.2/Windows NT.

 

·          Insular Life Assurance Co.  1/1995 - 4/1995.  Concurrently assigned as a consultant to the Vice-President of Information's Systems to facilitate a major corporate Systems Package Acquisition.  Facilitated management reviews for the requirements definition, and wrote the Request For Proposal. Coordinated the global search for vendors, scheduling of presentations, and final selection. Facilitated the review and evaluation of the proposed Technical Architectures for best fit to current environment.
