Senior Software Engineer

v      Java Senior Software engineer on DOD government contract responsible for analysis and design.  Completed development of SDDC applications for production environment. Created and updated web services to track shipments and manage routes globally.  The major features of the application were to determine best value based on which routes to utilize in mission critical decisions.  Project saved government undetermined amounts of money and time.  Development in Java/Eclipse IDE environment with Microsoft SQL Server backend database. Created GUI interface using jsp and servlets with CRUD features to create new and update routes in current system which was previously limited to only a select territory per additional requirement.  Encryption and Decryption of passwords implemented.  Tested web services via SOAPUI including configuration and troubleshooting.

v      Requirements gathering for end user stories for project development for design and team coordination.  Created WBS in Microsoft Project and projects completed on time and on budget. Created web services for consumers and producers and managed deployment in a SOA environment using WSO2 ESB with multiple customers. v      Managed Agile project in Version One for Air Force to determine flight paths on international routes.  Support team, design and development goals.  Tracked schedules and tasks using Version One software application.  Created Drools project in java to include business rules for determining best routes on project to accomplish efficiency of time and financial savings.

 

Red Cedar Project:

v      Developed mobile geospatial application for Air Mobility Command involving risk management to locate and identify nearest airport based on flight plans that meet search and filter criteria including fuel type and runway length. Geospatial information includes maps from open sources such as open street maps, Microsoft and Google maps as well as commercial products such as ArcGis Esri, and the ability to add layers using Open Layers to visualize weather conditions such as volcanos and earthquakes.

Scott AFB – EIL Project:

v      Java developer in Agile environment worked with team and customer to create user stories and complete development to accomplish the creation of new applications to fulfill the requirements to build Java / J2EE application to track and manage deployment of military goods around the world.  Business rules implemented included were speed and cost determination. The SSRP saved the Department of Defense tens of millions per year in over ocean transportation costs. This centrally managed route plan process for the Department of Defense (DoD) improved efficiency and effectiveness by evaluating routing options and transporting and distributing cargo on the fastest and/or most cost effective alternative.

v      The Java application included the business principle of shifting cargo between “pure” containers and “mixed” containers that contain cargo bound for multiple consignees. Managed via Webmethods/Blaze (business rules engine software) used to collaborate acceptance of determined route by each entity using business rules and logic. Supported deployment through development and testing in lab, testing and production environments.

v      Application design, development and testing of database driven Java applications, SSRP/AARP. User interface/presentation layer development using JSP, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, CSS, Flash.
