·          I have been working as a in-house Community Platform Architect at Virtusa's client, Scripps Networks, Digital .My job involves leading a small on-shore and off-shore team of products evaluation engineers, recommending new tools to enhance the existing community platform.

·          I have evaluated Community Platform Solutions, such as Hive, KickApps, Echo, and several others, social login tools such as Gigya and Janrain, social widgets such as RealTidbits, API Managements platforms such as WSO2, Mashery, 3Scale, Apigee, etc. I have created metrics, reports, summaries around my team's findings, proposed alternatives, participated in architectural reviews, and related activities. 

·          I have been assisting the Director of Engineering and the Chief Architect at Scripps Digital in a number of high-level architectural tasks, as well as participated in a number of other related activities to promote engineering processes and architectural improvements to current CP

 

January 2006-Present: Founder and CEO, HoloMathics, LLC.

 

l      Developed a new tweet management application in Grails, using JTwitter, a java wrapper around the Twitter API. This application uses several Grails plugins, including Quartz, Taxonomy, Feeds, Jasper, RichUI, Mail.

l      Developed WebCATS, a prototype web based Computer Aided Training System, for HumanBionics, LLC. The prototype is entirely built in GRAILS.

l      Designed, implemented and deployed MergingPot , a new ground breaking web social tool for enabling people from all over social nets to meet on the basis or their real interests.

l      Developed a Data Mining & Data Visualization FaceBook Application, called MPotConnector, which helps FB users to better understand  their FaceBook Social Graph. MPotConnector uses the FB API to upload visualizations of user's social links.

 

November 2010-October 2011: Lead Architect, Social Graph, ReachLocal.

l      Designed, developed  and tested a Grails module for automatically creating albums and uploading/updating photos on a target facebook page, using restFB,  a java wrapper around the Facebook Graph API

l      Enhanced a thread pool job scheduler inside a Grails application for data ingestion

l      Designed and implemented a reporting tool for social activity using Grails Google Visualization Plugin and Grails templates.

 

  February 2008-June 2008: R&D Manager, Intelligenx.

 

l      Provided technical assistance with Intelligenx client in Prague (Yellow Pages) on local search optimization

l      developed prototype for enabling Facebook users to connect with a local search engine and provide user's product recommendations. Prototype was developed using Solr and the java FaceBook Connect API

l      lead the R&D Team on a number of new directions in local search, including

automated key-words extraction from web ads (used Hadoop for crawling).

 

August 2006-January 2008: Senior Research Engineer, Analytics & Search Groups, AOL LLC.

 

·         Designed and implemented a web site visualization engine aimed at monitoring web crawlers activity. The engine is written using the open-source graph visualization library Jung 1.2, is exposed as a Java Axis web service, and displays the resulting web graph remotely on browsers using the JSON data format.

·         Conducted research on community-enhanced search engines. A test social network was built using the open-source PHP  framework  Elgg.

·         Architect for a new AOL channels distributed   recirculation search engine. The crawler uses Apache’s Nutch and Hadoop.

 

 

September 2004-November 2005: Director of R&D, Human Bionics, LLC

 

l      Managed a small group of senior researchers and developers working at a disruptive technology in the area of bio-adaptive, intelligent human-computer interfaces. This technology will have applications in the gaming industry, bio-medical devices, and in the defense community.

l      Streamlined Engineering Processes (Weekly Timesheets, Monthly Reports,

            Code Source Control, Coding Standards, Architecture Documentation, Tasks   

            Priority).

l      Coauthored two successful SBIR proposals on innovative methods in the areas of Intelligent Team Training and Intelligent Malicious Intent Detection

l      Coauthored three research papers in the area of Augmented Cognition that were accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the International Conference of Human-Computer Interfaces, Las Vegas 2005.

l      Designed from the ground up an immersive, totally distributed, Java agent-based environment built on top of the Torque 3D Game Engine that evolves according to user's cognitive status. This environment can be used in warrior training, education and for recreational purposes.

 

April 2004-August 2004:  Contractor as Senior Research Scientist, Human Bionics, LLC.

 

l      Designed, implemented and tested an intelligent agent on the DARPA-GlobalInfoTek CoAbs Architecture, a Java Middleware for integrating heterogeneous agent systems. This agent classifies multiple channels EEG data to determine human response to stress, as a part of the DARPA Augmented  Cognition Project (AugCog).

 

May 2002-September 2005: Contractor as Software Trainer, Software Technologies Computer Training Center, Inc.

 

l      Taught a 5-days course on Java Web Services using JWSDK1.4 (JAXP, JAXM, JAXB,   JAXR)   and Jakarta Axis 1.2. Course included architectural guidelines for implementing enterprise-level Web Services in EJB environments, as well as a hands-on section on security for WS using SSL and JAAS.

l      Taught 3-days courses on Web Applications using C#, XML and Visual Studio.NET (SOAP, WSDL, UDDI Web Services).

 

January 2002-Present: Adjunct Professor of Computer Science, George Mason University (GMU), National-Louis University (NLU) & University of Maryland University College (UMUC)

l      Tested and improved the functionality of the servlet-based GSA FedBizOpps site. Built a Java Web stress tool based on the new JDK 1.4 NIO API that evaluates web server performance and weaknesses to Denial-of-Service attacks.

l      Enhanced a Real Estate Web Site using JSP, JavaBeans, Servlets and Java Mail Technology.

April 2000-December 2001: AI Architect, Concannon Technologies, Inc.

 

l      Designed and developed a rule-based multi-media communication routing engine (telephony, e-mail, fax) based on Java Server Side Technology (Java Threads Pool, JDBC, Sockets, RMI) and the open-source Java Data Mining library WEKA3.

l      Built an ActiveX Control with VC++/ATL3.0 encapsulating the speech recognizer library Speechify 1.2 API.

l      Documented Class Diagrams & Process Diagrams for the AI Engine using UML 1.2 and Rational Rose  2000 .

l      Implemented automated testing modules using JUNIT, the open-source Java testing library. Implemented Java code refactoring policies as prescribed by Fowler's book.
