MICROSOFT Developer

·   Worked with the Accounting area on a month-end process to combine agent commission statements for different lines of business. This included developing a method to produce a downloadable Excel spreadsheet version of their statements. The project used Windows forms, Visual Basic, and SQL Server.

 

Dell Computers, Austin, TX November 2014 - December 2014

MICROSOFT Developer

·   A short term contract assisting the Infrastructure department of the CIO’s office to improve data entry processes for tracking and upgrading computer resources owned by Dell. The main task was to purchase, install, and train staff on the use of Telerik Rad Silverlight controls using ASP.NET forms, C#, and SQL Server.

 

Paragon Consulting, Cleveland, OH December 2012 – present

MICROSOFT Developer

·   As a staff custom application developer for Paragon Consulting, Inc. I have worked with a number of high level clients on varied Microsoft application projects centered on in-house applications built with Microsoft .NET technologies and Microsoft SQL Server databases and tools.

·   U.S. Steel was my main contract position, at the Lorain Tubular Works plant. Here I worked with a small team of developers designing, coding, and implementing software applications used in managing a large steel mill that produces tubular steel goods for the oil and gas industry.

·   At U.S. Steel I worked with many different SQL Server applications and databases, both in developing new data stores and modifications to existing databases. I assisted the lead data architect in migrating the plant’s main SQL Server 2005 database server to a new SQL Server 2012 platform (virtualized on Windows Server).

·   I worked extensively with SSRS to develop management reports of considerable complexity, utilizing both SSIS packages and XML or WCP web services to extract and load data from across the distributed enterprise network.

·   I gained some exposure last year at U.S. Steel to the MVC design pattern, while helping to build a Key Performance Indicator dashboard to be used throughout the Tubular Steel division.

·   At Cleveland Clinic I worked on a short term project for the Lab Informatics group. I designed and built the first iteration of the new Test Information Management System used by all medical laboratories within Cleveland Clinic’s hospitals and treatment centers.

·   I gained good experience on the Cleveland Clinic project with Entity Framework objects and methods, and developed strong skills using LINQ.

·   Other client work included Forest City, Ernst & Young, and the NBA. This work included some team lead experience, some SharePoint migration work, and heavy automated testing of SSIS packages and complex SQL Server stored procedures.
